Solar Energy Potential on Your Rooftop
- Anaheim Solar Map identifies three shaded areas noted in the legend at the bottom as "Areas with Detailed Solar Analysis."
- To see your home or building's rooftop solar potential your address must be in one of the shaded areas:
- Type in the address in the address line indicated in the bar at the top of the map.
- For help entering the address, click on the
button.
- Once you enter your address, click "Get My Info." This will pull up an aerial photo of the building, along with an estimate of the rooftop's solar PV potential, estimated annual system output and associated energy savings, and estimated annual CO2 emissions mitigated.
- There is also a link, "How Estimates Were Derived" to help you understand the assumptions and calculations that were used to arrive at these estimates.
- To get an estimate of the cost (before and after City and Federal incentives) of installing a solar energy system on your available roof space, just access the "Clean Power Estimator" link.
If your home or building is not in the shaded areas, you may still use the "Clean Power Estimator" link to get the approximate cost and energy savings of a solar energy system.
Existing Solar Energy Systems
- From the Anaheim Solar Map web site, you will see a map of the City of Anaheim with markers identifying existing solar energy installations in the City.
- Place your mouse over a marker on the map to pull up information about that solar energy installation. You will be shown the power rating of the system at each site, the projected power produced, the equipment used, and the company that installed the system.
Other Helpful Information
- You can also click on the other links provided at the top of the Anaheim Solar Map page to get to other on-line resources such as finding a solar installer, the details of the City of Anaheim Solar Energy Incentive Program, and other information.
